National Market Launcher

As a National Market Launcher, you will have the opportunity to shape and lead our innovative dockless micromobility programs in new markets throughout the world. You will have a vital role in a new market’s success, from assisting in recruiting new team members to marketing our products to new customers to identifying optimal workspace for our teams and warehouse space for our products.  You will also be responsible for initiating local partnerships in our new markets, as well as strengthening our relationship with local universities and governmental agencies and organizations. Above all, it is your responsibility to create a solid foundation to hand off to the market's General Manager so that they are able to increase the number of riders who use our products.  Your success will be measured by your ability to: quickly and efficiently establish the minimum requirements necessary for operating a new market, recruit and onboard new team members, onboard the General Manager and hand off operations, all in an attempt to continually delight our VeoRiders with exceptional customer service.

An ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for hands on operations, recruiting, customer service, team creation and development, and domestic and international travel. This role will be between 30-50% travel. Regular meetings at our office in Chicago will be expected. Candidates may be based within a two-hour drive of Chicago ORD or Chicago MDW. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the initial launch of a new market (including marketing, partnership and business expansion and customer service) in the absence of market General Manager
  • Laying the groundwork for market success for the first three months of a market’s life
  • Implementing initial operational frameworks for market success (creating the market’s operational infrastructure and adhering to Key Performance Indicators)
  • Creating and facilitating training programs for the local operations team
  • Developing and refining efficient operations and marketing processes in order to launch VeoRide in new markets
  • Assisting in recruiting and interviewing the local team (supporting VeoRide HQ People Operations)
  • Working with our business development teams to partner with local university, local governmental agencies, businesses and other organizations to secure sponsorships and deploy a marketing and advertising strategy
  • Creating and leading marketing activities that lead to customer acquisition
  • Collaborating with VeoRide HQ on growth strategies pre and post launch

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelors degree and 2+ years of operations and marketing experience (Experience working at an early stage, high growth or start up company is a plus)
  • Strong operations, implementation, execution and process improvement skills
  • A business chameleon with the ability to quickly adapt and move to new environments every two to three months and be comfortable to engage with new partners and customers frequently 
  • A willingness desire to travel and work a variety of shifts. A true road warrior. 
  • Experience working in culturally and geographically diverse markets
  • An “ownership mindset” with an entrepreneurial flair
  • A savvy marketer who can identify partnerships and develop relationships in order to increase ridership
  • An exceptional verbal and written communicator capable of speaking to diverse audiences with confidence and ease
  • Someone who learns by doing and can provide recommendations and execute in order to improve our business
  • An evangelist, someone who displays passion about the overall goals of dockless micromobility and sustainable transportation
